If there was a resurrection in paradise
by Sour Grapes insomething that bothered me even when i was a watchtower company drone was the thought of dying and being resurrected in paradise.
would the resurrected person really be me or just a copy of me?
if god could recreate one of me, he could also recreate five of me.

The only proof of any resurrections taking place is found in the Bible. The Bible is so filled with fairy tales that it detracts from anything that may have been factual. There were nine examples of resurrections and every one of them had the original body to work with. The bodies would have been decayed so some heavy restoration on the bodies would have been required.
Dieing and going to heaven I could believe in since your life continues without interruption, your life just continues in a different body form.

Bad Wolf....I really appreciate your post and it got me to think. I am always thinking of things that should make a JW use what little thinking ability they have left.
Here is the story. Let's say that I am a faithful JW and one day God says to me, "Brother Sour Grapes to strengthen your faith in the resurrection let's say you died 10 years ago, were cremated and your ashes were spread on the ocean. Since you were a faithful drone I am going to recreate you like in the resurrection.
Five minutes later sitting directly across from me is the recreated me. He looks exactly how I do and has every memory that I have, the same personality, height, weight, warts, and wrinkles. I am in complete awe being impressed by God's work and my faith in the resurrection is now stronger.
Now God tells me, "Sour Grapes, now we can't have two of you being around because that would be very confusing to everyone. Are you ready to die right now? The recreated you will now take over."
Would you want to die and let the other guy take over? Of course not because the recreated you is not you, it is just a clone of what you were.

The JW's I know love the video's because the meetings aren't as boring. Before too long the entire meeting will be one big video. I don't think that the meetings will ever be on JW.Borg because they will just stay home and watch the meeting from home.

I love the comment that they needed more space so they went to Jehovah in prayer and he blessed them with a larger facility. That is what every company and household does when more space is needed, you either add on to what you have or move to something larger. Why does God have to direct everything?

Great video! Bad Wolf. Why would God clone billions of dead people who lived in the past 6,000 years? He has to clone them with all of their memories, habits, traits, and personalities or the clone won't be a good replication of the real dead person. Why not just kill everyone one off at Armageddon, except for the JW's of course, and create all new people who love God?

It would be easier for me to believe that when I die my spirit or soul goes to heaven. As one poster said, that would at least be a continuance of life. I am afraid though that when we die that is the end of the line. There is no evidence that not even one person has ever been resurrected unless you believe in the Bible as being 100% reliable.

We are what are memories are. If God were to copy my total memories into the brain of another person and wipe out the person's own memories and make sure there were no mirrors around, the person would think that he would be me. So, I guess that I would not need to die to live again.

Something that bothered me even when I was a Watchtower Company drone was the thought of dying and being resurrected in paradise. Would the resurrected person really be me or just a copy of me? If God could recreate one of me, he could also recreate five of me. Which one of the clones would be me?

Faced with the reality of mortality
by stuckinarut2 inhow have you all coped with facing the reality of our mortality?.
most of us were raised to firmly believe we would never get old or die... so here we are now having to face the reality that are getting older... we are going to die.. sometimes it really pisses me off that we were never helped to comprehend this most basic of facts.
we were given a utopian dream as a "fact", and hence never taught how to face our inevitable futures.... thoughts?.

The cult has robbed so many of the only life they have because of not living in the present...just looking ahead to paradise with pet lions, tigers, elephants, and heaps of crap all over the yard waiting to be stepped into.
